Insight Into Life Of Anwar
Anwar, The Untold Story, a film on the life and political struggles of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim premiered on Monday.
Anwar, accompanied by his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, was present at the screening at Dadi Cinema, Pavillion, Kuala Lumpur.
His arrival was greeted by chants of ‘reformasi’ filling the air.
Guests at the special screening included Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail , Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil, creative industry players and local personalities including Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Taruddin who sang ‘Menjaga Cintamu’ that is featured in the film’s soundtrack.
The film by Indonesian director Viva Westi features local actor Farid Kamil Zahari in the role of Anwar while Indonesian actress Acha Septriasa plays the role of Azizah.
Farid, 42, has made a name for himself in the film industry with his outstanding performances in movies and drama series over the years.
Acha, 34, of Minangkabau descent, has starred in many movies and rose to fame with the success of ‘Heart’ in 2006.
Anwar, The Untold Story, is set between 1993 and 1998 when Anwar was deputy prime minister.
It will be released in major cinemas beginning from May 18.
