Rado’s 2025 Novelties Make Time Look Terrific
Swiss watchmaker Rado brought guests together for an intimate look at the brand’s newest design breakthroughs. It was exciting for everyone to be offered a glimpse into Rado’s 2025 novelties at an exclusive showcase held at If Only Restaurant, Kuala Lumpur. Seriously, there were so many superb timepieces that we felt we wanted to take them home with us or buy them for the people we care about. Rado is a well-loved, highly respected watch brand and we were happy to see that they did a fantastic job with their creative creations that have great aesthetic appeal.

Leading the presentation was Mr. Rene Furler, Regional Brand Manager of Rado, who shared insights into the brand’s continuous pursuit of innovation, particularly in the brand’s mastery of materials and ergonomic design. Those of us who were there enjoyed his interesting talk and managed to learn more about Rado and all the brand’s accomplishments.

What was at the heart of the showcase was the new Anatom — a bold evolution of a Rado classic that has captivated watch lovers since its original debut in 1983. The new Anatom collection features a new High-Tech Ceramic bracelet, bringing an exquisite comfort that moulds to the body, yet packaged in a bold, stylish aesthetic that stands out from the crowd. Its smoothly tapering links offer a lightweight, skin-friendly feel that quickly adapts to body temperature — an ergonomic refinement that stays true to the Anatom’s design DNA.

The march of progress never rests: continual refinements, tweaks and modifications represent the journey of Rado’s visionary watch designers. For the Rado Anatom, five new editions symbolize their attainment of pure, ergonomic harmony – a progressive symbiosis where design and materials come together to perfectly complement the natural contours of the wrist. The new releases follow the hugely successful relaunch of the Rado Anatom in 2023, which saw the watch reborn with a black matt high-tech ceramic bezel and paired with a textured rubber strap.
Rado also unveiled standout additions to its 2025 lineup — including a reimagined collaboration piece with the DiaStar Original x Tej Chauhan, a bold, retro futuristic twist to a beloved classic.

Tej Chauhan is an award-winning British industrial designer known for his “Emotive Industrial Design”: shape, colour and material are used strategically to create objects that elicit joy. In his offices in London and Helsinki, a team of creative specialists works on a wide range of media and disciplines.
“My path in design,” he says, “is to create objects which make a connection with as many people as possible and to make them feel good.” Tej Chauhan’s works comprise a wide range of products of extraordinary creativity and among his numerous awards and recognitions are Red Dot, IDSA Gold & Silver, iF, Good Design, Grand Prix du Design Gold, D&AD, Cannes Lions, and the International Design Award.

Talking about his collaborations with Rado, he shared about his own relation to time, which he describes as complicated. “I do wear a watch every day and I hate being late, so I give myself plenty of time… but then I relax because I think I have so much time and end up cutting it a bit fine sometimes!” Working with Rado has given Tej Chauhan the opportunity to learn about the luxury Swiss watchmaking traditions and to explore how Rado combines the concept of traditional craftsmanship with modern high-tech innovation.
Another watch that catches the eye is the Captain Cook Over-Pole which makes a striking return as a refined worldtimer, housed in a slim 39mm yellow gold-coloured PVD case and topped with a black high-tech ceramic bezel engraved with global cities.

Rado’s True Square Skeleton also made an impression with its matt high-tech ceramic executions. We just love the way the design flawlessly reveals the superior craftsmanship that went into the making of these timepieces.

To add a personal touch to the event, a mini lightbox studio was set up, inviting guests to capture the intricate details and finishes of each timepiece up close. This hands-on experience allowed guests to further appreciate the craftsmanship, textures, and materials in a more intimate way. The relaxed setting encouraged personal interaction with the novelties and meaningful storytelling moments. Invitees could be seen enthusiastically trying to get stunning, creative images of the Rado watches.

It was a well-planned and interesting event that not only highlighted Rado’s latest technical advancements but also reaffirmed the brand’s ongoing dedication to redefining the future of watchmaking.
