COLUMBIA ASIA HOSPITALS WELCOMED FIRST BABIES INTO THE YEAR OF THE HORSE
All of us just love babies and at Columbia Asia Hospitals, they were delighted to welcome the first little ones who came into the world in the lunar new year.
Columbia Asia Hospitals, a member of Asia OneHealthcare, marked the first day of Chinese New Year with the arrival of newborns at two of its branches.
Among the couples who welcomed their new family member at Columbia Asia were Yogeswaran Reganaddan and wife, Cheah Chie San. Cheah safely delivered a healthy baby boy at Columbia Asia Hospital Tebrau at 5.39pm. Weighing 2.1kg, the baby is the couple’s first child. Both mother and son are doing well.
A Joyful Start
According to Chinese tradition, babies born in the Year of the Horse are often associated with strength, energy and good fortune, while gold symbolises prosperity and blessings for the year ahead.
“Columbia Asia Hospital Tebrau is thrilled to welcome our first baby on this auspicious day,” said Regional Chief Executive Officer (Southern Region), Engku Marina Engku Hatim “It’s a beautiful reminder that every new year begins with new hope and new life.”
If you are wondering why this year is extra special, it’s because this year’s CNY baby celebration was especially meaningful as it also honours Columbia Asia’s 30th anniversary. To commemorate this grand milestone, the first baby born on the first day of Chinese New Year at every Columbia Asia hospital was presented with a 916 Gold Jingle Baby Anklet. Hence, the couple at Columbia Asia Hospital Tebrau was gifted with such an anklet for their newborn son.
It’s always rewarding to be the first. For being the very first CNY baby born in the Columbia Asia group, there was an additional gold gift; a 1 Dinar 999.9 Fine Gold Coin. This grand prize went to a baby boy born at 12.21pm at Columbia Asia Hospital Setapak. The little bundle of joy weighing 3.73kg was delivered via spontaneous birth to proud parents, Zohaib Haider and Neelam Zohaib. Hailing from Pakistan, their baby boy is the fifth addition to the family. As the first to arrive among all Columbia Asia hospitals on CNY, the hospital presented the couple with the 1 Dinar 999.9 Fine Gold Coin on top of a 2g 999.9 Fine Gold Bar (the latter as a replacement for the anklet, as gold is not permissible for Muslim males to wear).
