Malaysian artist Jaee Tee and Mitsuhiro Higuchi collaborate with McLaren

The spirit of the Tiger roared to life with the electrifying collaboration between McLaren, Malaysian artist Jaee Tee and Japanese artist Mitsuhiro Higuchi, bringing forth a rebirth of the McLaren Artura, inspired by the awe-inspiring Tiger of the Chinese Zodiac.

This visionary project was unveiled at the McLaren Kuala Lumpur showroom recently. Of aesthetic brilliance, this endeavour is a heartfelt tribute to the shared values of courage and bravery embodied by both the Tiger and the McLaren brand.

Like the fearless jungle cat, McLaren has always been at the forefront of motorsports, championing innovation, performance and the pursuit of excellence. The talented artists behind this project were deeply inspired by the noble qualities of courage and valour that unite the Tiger and McLaren’s ethos.

Artura, McLaren’s latest hybrid car, draws its name from the fusion of ‘Art’ and ‘Future’; Tee and Higuchi viewed this as the perfect opportunity to integrate Augmented Reality into their art, to capture the futuristic essence of the McLaren Artura.

Of the magnificent artworks showcased in the exhibition, the Tiger Sculptures are inspired by five elements in the universe (water, earth, fire, wood and metal). The intricate, semi-abstract tiger elements emerging from the Artura create a surreal and captivating experience for the audience. This imaginative method transforms the way we perceive automotive art. It sets a new standard for innovation in the industry.

Collaborating with McLaren has been an incredible journey, fusing art and innovation, while adding significant corporate value to this iconic brand,” says Jaee Tee.

McLaren maintains a discerning eye for selecting its artistic collaborators. It’s thus a distinct honour that Malaysian artist Jaee Tee was chosen for this project marking her third high-profile showcase as an artist, as well as for Mitsuhiro Higuchi, whose creativity knows no bounds. Jaee Tee is a Malaysian artist who works across a diverse range of mediums, including oil acrylic, Chinese ink, charcoal, mixed media, and sculptures.

This project also involves the participation of Heritouch Gallery, which represents Tee and an array of other exceptionally talented artists. Richie C of Heritouch Gallery remarked, “Behind every artwork lies a unique story and a unique artist. We are not just an art gallery; we are an artist management corporation. We focus heavily on artist and IP management, and we bridge art and conventional business activities together.”

As the representative gallery of Jaee Tee, Heritouch Gallery serves as an exhibition space, an art trading platform and an exclusive private club for art collectors. It’s located at One World Hotel in Petaling Jaya. The gallery’s design reflects the essence of art, with a history wall and various displays featuring 24k gold art, sculptures and contemporary art. “In the fusion of art and commerce, we discover the essence of innovation and the soul of a brand, to magnify the intrinsic core values,” explains Richie C.

They always say that when an artist is talented, you should acquire her pieces early, as one day, the prices may shoot up to a very high level, hard to afford. Jaee Tee is not only beautiful in person, but her artworks are certainly to be admired. She is clearly an artist to watch closely as she progresses even further in her career and makes all of us Malaysians proud.
