Elevate Your Style With SANDRO

It was a joy to walk into SANDRO’s store at The Exchange TRX to view their Spring-Summer 2025 collection. The SANDRO design studio has unveiled a solar collection: ESCAPE TO THE SUN. It’s an irresistible invitation to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. In a contrast of layering and minimalism, the studio tells the story of a journey, from a private club by the sea to the dunes of an arid desert.

THE WOMEN’S COLLECTION

We love the color palette. Burgundy, bottle green, pale yellow and navy evoke the preppy codes of a posh club. The polo shirts and shirts are layered, giving the silhouette a controlled casualness, but it is in the details that the attitude stands out.

Creativity is seen in the drawstrings and stitching inspired by boat sails, evoking the desire to take to the open seas. Thick crepe dresses, reminiscent of wetsuits, have contrasting seams to give them a sixties feel. On the feet, boat shoes are this season’s star accessory.

A symbol of belonging and freedom, the bandana is more than ever in the spotlight. Authentic and modern, it comes in red and brown and completes the look by nodding to the travelling spirit of SANDRO women.

For midsummer, layering gives way to a new understated simplicity. The dress is the essential piece in the summer wardrobe. Minimalism is revealed in refined pieces where every detail counts. Summery knits are sublimated by gold jewels, which enhance shades of beige reminiscent of desert dunes. A scarf print, inspired by hawaiian shirts, plays on a contrast of black and ecru, contrasting the range.

Meanwhile, the denim seems to have been gently weathered by the sun. This bold, minimalist collection takes us on a summer getaway where the sea and the sun dictate style.

THE MEN’S COLLECTION

A sophisticated yet understated summer is evoked. It features minimalist lines. You will see loose-fitting silhouettes in timeless colors – white, cream, sand, brown, sky blue, as well as black and navy – in beautiful, natural materials: poplin, cool wool, cotton and linen.

It’s a relaxed look with a distinguished touch that invites travel. From a collared jacket in sand-colored suede, a tank top in mesh, a workwear jacket in linen blend, a mac coat in faded denim, to a shark-collared short-sleeved shirt, the design studio takes pleasure in revisiting the signature pieces of the men’s wardrobe in large yet precise volumes.

Patterns such as pleats and floral prints add movement and texture. Vibrant splashes of azure blue and lemon yellow lend unexpected relief to the chic, subtle allure of the SANDRO man.

Accessories are designed to add a personal touch to every look. Woven leather tote bags, hobo-style satchels and supple leather slippers carry the same relaxation as the ready-to-wear.

SANDRO and Louise Bourgeois

What a superb collection! In the course of its iconographic research for the Spring/Summer 2025 collection, the SANDRO Women’s design studio deepened its perception of the artistic universe of Louise Bourgeois.

Louise Bourgeois is often remembered for her monumental sculptures, notably her famous spiders, the largest of which is entitled Maman. But there is much more to the creative universe of Louise Bourgeois. Evelyne Chetrite, Founder and Artistic Director of SANDRO, paid particular attention to her spirals.

To express the symbolic resonance of the spiral in her work, Louise Bourgeois drew on memories of her childhood. She associated spirals with a multitude of emotions. The spiral thus became a powerful visual metaphor for these complex feelings.

The artist also attached particular importance to fabric and used fabrics from her own closet and home as raw materials in her creative process. She made patchworks of fabrics from garments she disassembled and then reassembled in different compositions – illustrating a deeply personal artistic method.

Long before the idea of upcycling became fashionable, Louise Bourgeois had already incorporated it into her creative process. This care for prolonging the life of materials particularly resonates with SANDRO’s values, and this approach has inspired the design studio.

For Evelyne Chetrite, Founder and Artistic Director of SANDRO, this unique vision evoked the whirlwind of life. The deconstructed and reconstructed fabrics awakened poetic images in her: memories under the parasols of a beach in Nice. The emotion generated by the works of Louise Bourgeois guided the women’s design studio in the conception of a creative capsule. Through this collaboration, SANDRO aims to offer exclusive and unique pieces, celebrating both its know-how and its attachment to art and artists.

For this capsule, the studio adopted the artist’s inspired approach: deconstruct to better reconstruct. A vertical stripe becomes a geometric pattern; every detail invites us to rethink traditional codes. The collection features summery pieces: flowing shirts and pants, airy dresses, a parasol skirt in a patchwork of stripes, or a wide-brimmed floppy hat- as if Louise had fashioned them herself. Natural materials take center stage: linen voile, printed cotton poplin and silk twill highlight the essence of the artist’s work. The various shades of blue are reminiscent of the Mediterranean, a world dear to the SANDRO studio.

“Like Louise, we tried to reflect on our relationship with clothes. Like her, we may have found a way to master the chaos that surrounds us. Like Louise, SANDRO celebrates women without claiming militant feminism and appreciates fashion without succumbing to the excesses of ultra consumerism.” – Evelyne Chetrite

To own one of these pieces is akin to owning a work of art you can wear. The designs stand out and are creatively memorable.

Why not head to SANDRO to check out what is available this season? You will find yourself feeling delighted when browsing through the many pieces of fashionable attire which will surely add panache and finesse to your style.
