For those who may not know, Rop Van Mierlo works in a variety of media, with drawing and painting as the starting points for his creative process. He uses a technique learned in elementary school, \u201cwet-on-wet\u201d to achieve a watercolor look, and depicts colorful animals. Control – or the lack of it – is an important element in his work. His illustration book Wild Animals, won a Dutch Design Award in 2011.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
